We’ve Got Talent!

A few days ago, our colleague Jean-François Reithler had the opportunity to sport Qim info’s brand new colours during a sports competition. Jean-François entered the National Corporate Games in the very original and no less challenging discipline of archery and won the gold medal in his category!

An Atypical Career

Originally from the Vosges in north-eastern France, Jean-François joined the Qim team at the end of 2021 as a HelpDesk technician. At the ripe young age of 25, he had already amassed quite a collection of professional experiences: After training as an airline pilot, Jeff turned to IT support, a profession he started in Alsace. A few months ago, he brought his adventurous spirit to Qim info’s IT Operations & Support Services team, joining Benjamin, department head.

Jean-François has been an archer since the age of 7: “It was a way to spend time with my dad,” he explains. 18 years later, archery is still one of his passions! Rather ‘agitated’ in life, this sport forces him to settle down and concentrate on his target.

Three Days of Competition in Tours, France

In Tours, the French National Corporate Games brought together employees from all walks of life and from all regions to share in three days of sports and connections. Several hundred competitors came together to practice their sport, such as athletics, badminton, ball-trap, futsal and, of course, archery.

Archery is a relatively ‘niche’ sport, but there are more than 80,000 club members in France and Switzerland. The rules are similar to tennis: Two archers compete in a match that is won in sets of six points.

After several matches, our colleague qualified for the final among 11 other competitors. He then faced Christophe Corniaux in the final and won the gold medal! Everyone at Qim info is very proud of this exceptional performance!

Finding Work/Sport Balance is Possible

At Qim info, we know that our wealth lies in our team profiles. That’s why Jean-François’ participation in this competition was a unique opportunity to find a balance between his athletic passion and his professional life.

You just won the gold medal. What are you going to do next?  “The goal is to eventually join the World Archery Excellence Centre in Lausanne to train and continue to progress in my sport.” But before that, we will see him in 2023 at the European Corporate Games in Bordeaux, France. Who knows, maybe other members of the Qim team will be present at his side!
