QimLife

At Qim info, as with all IT services and consulting companies (ESNs), the majority of our workforce consists of consultants on assignment. Even though people play an essential role in our business, there is a simple challenge to be met:how do we integrate and retain consultants who aren’t in our offices on a daily basis?

Qim info takes up this challenge by inviting a consultant to take part in management committee meetings for a year. This enables the consultant to be involved in the company’s strategic decision-making, and to speak on behalf of his or her colleagues.

Patrice Ginday held this role throughout 2024 and is now passing on the torch to Claire Mai-Lâm at the beginning of 2025. Below you can read an interview with our new representative!

Who am I?

I joined Qim info in Annecy in September 2021 as a Business Analyst in the banking sector. Since the end of 2023, I’ve been working in Geneva for a client in the energy/trading sector.

Interview

What are the most important issues for you to address this year on the management committee? And why are they important?

Claire: I’d like to play an active part in strengthening the relationship between the consultants, but also between Qim info and the consultants. The aim? To give them as much of a sense of belonging and cohesion as possible.

I’d also like to address the following topic: providing a clear and detailed overview of the various development possibilities for a consultant who is on an inter-contract period or who wishes to have a change of assignment. This means, for example, providing precise information on training opportunities, career prospects within the company, and any available assignments that match their skills and aspirations.

What convinced you to join the adventure and say “yes” to the management committee?

Claire: Despite the distance that some consultants on assignment may feel in relation to their IT services and consulting company (ESN), I’ve always felt close to Qim info. This proximity has kept me in touch with the company’s values, and I’m delighted to be able to contribute to its development.

It’s also a great experience that will give me a better understanding of management issues. By being involved in strategic decisions, I’ll be able to better grasp the challenges facing the company and come up with innovative and tailor-made solutions.

How do you see your role as a representative?

Claire: I want to be a point of contact for the consultants, ensuring that their concerns and suggestions are effectively collected and passed on to management.

At board meetings, I can bring the consultants’ perspective and represent their day-to-day experiences and challenges. In this way, we will guarantee that decisions taken at the strategic level are in line with the “reality on the ground”.
